Prabhsimran started being a part of professional cricket, where he started from the age-group teams within Punjab. He made his debut in List A with the India Emerging Team, playing against the Afghanistan Emerging Team on 7 December 2018. As for the match on 17 February 2022, he played his first first-class match for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy debut scoring a century on his very first attempt. Ever since, he has had the honour of being in the regular squad of the state cricket team, putting together scores in all formats.
Punjab Kings paid ₹4.8 crore in the December 2018 auction to acquire him. His first appearance in IPL was on 29 April 2019, and since then, he has played 34 matches, where his score total reached 756 runs, with the best being 103 not out and has one century and three fifties in his name. He is well known for scoring runs at a rate of 146 strike rate and has been retained by Punjab Kings for the 2025 season, continuing to open the batting. And now, in the IPL 2025, his opening partner is Preiyansh Arya, who is equally explosive in terms of batting style, so sure enough, this opening pair is kinda working in the favour of the team and winning them important matches this season.
