Personal Life
Right now, Robin Minz is just 22 years old, and yes, he comes from Gumla, a small town in Jharkhand. We have already talked about how capable he is in cricket, but what about other aspects of life? Well, off the field, he is actually a super chill person, and as for his love life, well, we don’t know much about that yet. Though, he certainly isn’t married yet.
Professional Life And IPL Career
He started competitive cricket in local tournaments of Jharkhand, where his powerful batting and quick glove work as a wicket-keeper caught the notice of the selectors. He made his senior debut for Jharkhand at the end of 2023 and soon began to establish himself in both the four-day and T20 sides. His signing grade performances got him an invitation to the IPL auction in December 2023, during which the Gujarat Titans purchased him for ₹3.6 crore ahead of the 2024 season. Unfortunately, a motorcycle accident early in 2024 prevented him from being in the playing XI, so that was kinda the end of the season for him.
Robin was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2025 IPL mega auction for ₹75 lakh, gifting him with a fresh new start. Robin debuted in the IPL on 23 March 2025 against the Chennai Super Kings by taking a sharp catch behind the stumps and showing glimpses of power hitting late in the innings. As the first-ever Adivasi player to complete this journey across IPL history, he gives hope to many young cricketers from tribal areas. This year, once again, he surely made his debut for the MI franchise, but he didn’t get enough chances.
