And that’s because he has the skill and talent to run the game in the favour of his team by taking super important wickets in his 4-over spells. And yes, it was just last year in IPL 2024 when we first saw Nuwan Thushara playing for the Mumbai Indians because they bought him for a whopping INR 4.8 crores. Professional Life And IPL Career
Nuwan Thushara commenced his professional cricket in Sri Lanka’s domestic circuits, making his first-class debut in 2015. He was shortlisted for the national T20I squad and went on making his debut for Sri Lanka in February 2022, with his impressive slinging action and yorkers. In 2024, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians for ₹4.8 crore in the Indian Premier League, in which he played seven matches and took eight wickets. He was then bought in the 2025 auction by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for ₹1.6 crore. He is an impressive death bowler, bothering batsmen with his pace, cutters, and spot-on yorkers.
