Professional Life And IPL Career

Lockie started his professional cricket career playing for Auckland in New Zealand’s domestic competitions. He made his One Day International debut for New Zealand in December 2016 and his Twenty20 International debut in January 2017. Lockie made his Test debut in December 2019. Lockie is best known for fast bowling, regularly bowling at speeds over 145 km/h and once recording 157.3 km/h.

Lockie made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2017 with Rising Pune Supergiant. He was with the Kolkata Knight Riders between 2019 and 2021 and then went to play for the Gujarat Titans in the year 2022. In 2023, he joined Royal Challengers Bangalore. Prior to the 2025 season, he was bought for auction by the Punjab Kings for INR 2 crore. By April 2025, he had played 49 IPL matches in which he took 51 wickets, mostly taking wickets from yorkers or bouncers, ensuring those important wins for his teams. Though this season, he has been injured, and that’s why he only got to play just 4 matches so far and ended up taking 5 wickets.
