Sure, Tim David has played for the Australian team on the international stage in formats like ODI and T20, but he is actually a Singapore-born player. He even used to play for Singapore’s national team for quite a while. Though we saw his real explosiveness in cricket when he made his IPL debut, sure, he didn’t do much in his debut season, but the very next season, he scored some important runs for the Mumbai Indians with a 215+ strike rate. Now, in IPL 2025, though, he is part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team, yes, the very same team he made his debut in IPL with. So, it will be kinda interesting to see how he performs this year. And if you’re seeing his hard-hitting batting for the first time, let’s just get to know him a little better.

Professional Life and IPL Career
Tim started his international cricket career playing T20 matches for Singapore in 2019 and qualified to play for Australia in 2022. He has become known for his big-hitting batting and has appeared in leagues worldwide, including Australia’s Big Bash League and Pakistan’s Super League. In the Indian Premier League, Tim played for the Mumbai Indians from 2022 to 2024, where he often featured in the late or death overs.
Though yes, he was part of the RCB team back in 2021 when he made his debut in the IPL, but that season, he ended up playing just 1 match for the franchise. But the next year, Mumbai Indians signed him, we really saw his explosive side, like, he scored about 186 runs with a strike rate of 216.28 that season. He was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the 2025 season in order to provide some power and experience to their middle order. And once again, we’re seeing why Tim David is among the most valuable players in the IPL right now, he has already scored 184 runs for RCB with a near 200 strike rate. He is one of the biggest reasons why RCB’s lower batting order looks super strong.
