Nitish Rana is one super underrated player in Indian cricket right now, and do not judge him by his performance in IPL 2025 for the Rajasthan Royals. You’ll know what we’re talking about once you look at his IPL records so far. Like, sure, he started out with the Mumbai Indians back in 2016, but it was the Kolkata Knight Riders that brought him to his full potential, and for 7 consecutive seasons, he played for the same franchise and scored big runs every season. Though, because his performance was kinda subpar, the franchise released him, and it was the Rajasthan Royals that bought him in the mega auctions for IPL 2025. So far he is doing pretty good for the new franchise, so if you’re seeing him play for RR for the very first time, let’s get to know him a little better here.

Personal Life
Though you can’t tell by looking at his face and charm, he is actually 31 years old right now. And yes, he was born and brought up in Delhi. The thing that worked out in his favour was that he was born to a family that loves cricket way too much, and that’s why he kinda became fond of this sport.
As for his love life and all that personal stuff, well, he is already married to Saachi Marwah, though, so far, the couple has no kids.
Professional Life and IPL Career
He began playing domestic cricket for Delhi but later switched to captain Uttar Pradesh. And if you don’t know anything about him yet, well, he is a left-handed batsman and an occasional off-break bowler. In 2016, he was picked for the Mumbai Indians and made his IPL debut, but his opportunities to play were few. Since 2018, he has played for Kolkata Knight Riders, where his aggressive style of batting earned him a regular place in the team and the captaincy in the 2023 season. Last year though, in IPL 2024, when KKR won the IPL trophy, well, he was part of the winning team. Before the 2025 season, the Rajasthan Royals bought him in the mega-auction. He has also represented India in one ODI and two T20Is in 2021 to establish his credentials at the international level.
