Personal Life

Mayank was actually born and brought up in Delhi, and he is super young too, like just 22 years old right now. Though the thing is, he actually came from a financially struggling family, which only fueled his passion to become a cricketer even more. And yes, at first, he used to practice with his dad, and that’s how he got into bowling in cricket.

Talking about his personal life, you know, love life and stuff, you see, he is certainly not married. But he could be in a relationship with someone, not that we know of, because he hasn’t disclosed that to the public yet.

Professional Life And IPL Career

Mayank made his professional debut for Delhi in T20s in October 2022, and made List A appearances in December 2022. He was bought for ₹20 lakh by Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 auction but did not play that season due to an injury. And to be honest, it was actually in 2024 where he made kinda a sensational IPL debut against Punjab Kings, taking three wickets for 27 runs. In that match, he bowled the fastest delivery of the season at 155.8 km/h and broke his own record with a delivery at 156.7 km/h in the very next match. So no doubt at all that his debut performance earned him the Man of the Match award. He donned the Indian jersey for the first time in a T20 International against Bangladesh in October 2024. With pace and accuracy, he is one of the most exciting young bowlers in the IPL, and the Lucknow Super Giants rate him so highly that around ₹11 crore would be needed to retain him for next season.
