Professional Life And IPL Career
Akash had a brief stint in civil engineering after college, but being away from his job, he actually spent most of his free time playing cricket. His major break came in 2021 when he debuted for Uttarakhand in the domestic T20 tournament of India. His consistent performance gave him an opportunity to bowl in the nets for Royal Challengers Bangalore and later for Mumbai Indians. In 2023, Mumbai Indians gave him his debut in the IPL, where he grabbed 4 wickets in his very first match. Later in the same season, he became the only uncapped player ever to take five wickets in an IPL playoff match. He was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 auction for INR 1.2 crore.
