Personal Life
For those who don’t know anything about him yet, well, Rajat actually comes from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. And he has been playing cricket since he was just 8 years old, and sure enough, the skills he has are a result of how early he started practising and taking professional training.
As for his love life, well, for a long time, we didn’t know who he was dating, but finally, in 2022, we saw him engaged to Gunjan Patidar, and soon after that, they got married too. Though, they do not have any kids from this marriage yet.
Professional Life And IPL Story
In 2015, Rajat started his professional career playing for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. Scoring runs at will and making a name for himself, he became the leading run-scorer for his state in the 2018-19 season. His brilliant performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and other domestic tournaments finally brought him a chance to represent India, and he made his ODI debut against South Africa on December 21, 2023. A few months later, he played his first Test against England on February 2, 2024. With his excellent technique and calm approach in all three formats of the game, Rajat is indeed a valuable member of the team.
Rajat went to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2021 for his base price. He was initially playing more of a supportive role, but everything changed in the 2022 playoffs when he scored an unbeaten 112 to take RCB to the final. That inning made him a fan favourite and sealed his place in the team. In the next two seasons, he batted for crucial runs and became famous for handling pressure. RCB has now made him captain ahead of IPL 2025.
