Personal Life

Mahendra Singh Dhoni (aka MS Dhoni) was born on July 7, 1981, in this small city called Ranchi, in the eastern part of the country. As for his personal life is concerned, well, he went on to marry his childhood friend, Sakshi Singh Rawat, on July 4, 2010, and their super cute daughter, Ziva, was born on February 6, 2015. Well, Dhoni loves pretty much everything simple away from cricket, like chilling with his dogs or riding bikes, you see. And he has a long list of super cool motorbike collections, takes care of a lot of dogs around his farmhouse near Ranchi, and loves to ride long rides down quiet roads, for sure.

And this Indian Army gave him this very cool honorary Lieutenant Colonel title in 2011, and even did five super tough parachute jumps in 2015 to get his paratrooper wings.

International Professional Life

If you’re an old-time cricket fan, you’d remember that Dhoni made his One-Day International debut in December 2004, and that was no small event. In another two years, he was practically a super-famous name with his big hits, quite literally. India had decided to make him captain for the 2007 T20 World Cup, where he led such a young team to win the title. Four years later, on April 2, 2011, Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit an epic six that won India the 50-over World Cup after a long wait of 28 years. And then, in 2013 he ended up with the Champions Trophy, making him the only captain to win all three major titles, indeed. By the end of 2020, August of that year, he stepped down from all forms of international cricket.

His IPL Story

Well, MS Dhoni has been playing for CSK or Chennai Super Kings from the very start of IPL, like ever since 2008. And who could have thought that he’ll lead this team to win 5 IPL trophies, like in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. At the moment, though, he’s still playing the 18th season of IPL, and probably, he’s the only player from the 2007 T20 World Cup tournament who’s still playing in IPL. Currently, though, he’s the captain of CSK once again after Ruturaj Gaikwad got injured.
