Personal Life

It is true that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is just a 14-year-old because he was born on 27 March 2011 in the small village of Tajpur in Samastipur, Bihar. Since he started playing cricket when he was so young, his family also supported his passion and look where and how far it has taken him today.

Outside of cricket, you see, he truly enjoys being a chill person and working on his skills. And yes, he looks up to Virat Kohli as his cricket idol.

Professional Life and IPL Career

Vaibhav formally started his cricketing journey through state-level age-group tournaments in Bihar. Very young at 12, he caught everyone’s sight in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy with excellent batting and bowling and was duly selected for India’s under-19 camps. Soon before his 13th birthday, he went on to debut in the Ranji Trophy and bowled and batted with remarkable composure for his age against established bowlers.

November 2024 saw the Rajasthan Royals purchase Vaibhav at the IPL auction for ₹1.1 crores, and that was a shocking part because if he goes on to play, he’ll become the youngest ever player in the IPL, and that is precisely what happened. For a few matches, the Rajasthan Royals didn’t give him a chance to play for them, but it was in April 2025 when we saw him play for the very first time, and the very first ball he played, he hit it for a six straight up. And that day, he ended up finishing 34 off 20 balls. From that day, experts were speculating that we had a new explosive batsman at a very young age, and that became true when we saw him become the youngest ever batsman in the history of IPL to hit a century. And it was not just any century, he hit it in just 35 balls, and ended up with an innings that looked like this: 101 from 38 balls.
