Professional Life And IPL Career

Swapnil Singh began his professional journey as a teenager, making his first-class debut for Baroda at just 14 years old in 2005. Over the next decade, he became known in India’s domestic circuit for his slow left-arm spin and useful lower-order batting. In 2018, he switched to Uttarakhand and continued playing in the Ranji Trophy and domestic limited-overs tournaments.

Though not a lot of people know that Swapnil Singh has been part of the IPL ever since 2008, and yes, back then, he used to be part of the Mumbai Indians squad. Though it was way later in his IPL career that he made his debut playing for the Kings XI Punjab in 2016, and then they retained him for the 2017 season as well. After a few years away from the IPL, he returned in 2023 with Lucknow Super Giants. In 2024, he signed for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and has since contributed as a spin all-rounder, taking key wickets and adding quick runs down the order.
