Getting his initial exposure in age-group cricket for Uttar Pradesh, Dhruv, who was part of the Indian Under-19 squad that lost the World Cup final in 2020, went on to play in the 2021 Ranji Trophy, his first-class debut. He soon showed his worth as a reliable wicket-keeper batter in domestic List A and T20 matches. His consistency caught the eyes of domestic teams as well as IPL franchises.
