Well, he is among the current best batsmen for the South African international team. Personal Life
Just like most South African cricketers who made it big, Aiden Markram also became fond of cricket as a sport when he was in his childhood days. He always used to play cricket with his friends near his house, but once he came into his teenage years, he started taking it more seriously and decided to get more training. If it wasn’t for that decision of his, we wouldn’t have gotten such a talented batsman from the South African cricket scene.
Talking about his love life specifically, well, he is already married to Nicole Daniella O’Connor, but so far, they don’t have any kids from this marriage, at least none that we know of.
Professional Life
Before we saw him play for the international team of his nation, he actually started playing in the local youth tournaments. Then, slowly, he made his way into the team of the Under-19 World Cup in 2014. Right after that, some of his great performances came in First Class and List A cricket, and that’s how he got picked up for the international team back in 2017 for Test and ODI formats. And just 2 years after that, we saw him play in the T20Is as well for the South African team.
Since he has performed super well in the T20 format for the nation, with a good strike rate of 143.89 and overall 1367 runs to his name, no wonder that it was Punjab Kings that gave him a chance in IPL 2021. That year, he showed a somewhat decent performance. The very next year, it was SRH that signed him, and he played for them in the next 3 seasons. But now, in IPL 2025, he is part of the Lucknow Super Giants team as the opening batsman, and he is already off to a super good start, where he has hit 326 runs in just the first 10 matches with an impressive strike rate of 150.93.
